I'll see if I can get down there Monday night. Will have to sweeten up the Mrs.
Crass, they cleared a lot of the Roma out in the intervening period.

Crassus If you see a couple running to the bar desperately in time for last orders it'll probably be me... But at least I'm on a Belgian airline and stopping in Brussels I will find a decent beer.

slarti Cheers, last time I went was years ago before it was a place, as it were I remember all the bars having a strict close time, locals buggered off and then in the square plod appeared along with a horde of hookers, mainly Roma, emerging from everywhere offering all sorts of abstract services for those of specific interest

Re: Fan zone in Prague

Crass, U vejvodu is pretty close to you. Nice pub with good beer at a reasonable enough price. They serve food but I'm unsure until what time. Round that way there's plenty of fast food if you're in need.
There's McCarthys round there too, but it is expensive (fiver a pint rather than the usual 2/2.50). Then again, will probably be a half-decent meet-up point.
If you head over towards Narodni Trida there's fast food open till late, a burrito place, a few pizza places that sell by the slice, a burger king and a kfc, but late dining isn't much of a thing here. Late drinking, however ...

I'll take you up on this offer mate We are at the Iron Gate and my lad has found a couple of restaurants and booked for the trip, I'll take references from you when I catch up with him We have a late afternoon flight on Monday, I reckon it will be around 10.00 pm that we get out of the hotel, any suggestions for a beer and bite to eat in that locality?

fras, also torn. You want to be in a square or something where the acoustics allow us to make a proper racket, rather than out in park somewhere.
However, it is really nice up at Letna, and there'll be plenty of space for a big group of people, plus I've heard a significant number of Hammers-sympathising Czechs are planning to go there to take in the atmosphere and watch the game.
I know the stadium and ticketing has been a shower but it is quite nice how excited people are for the final here, especially with the 3 Czechs involved.

I actually live in Prague. If anyone wants any tips I'm happy to help.
First, if you want a good Czech meal for a reasonable price go to this chain restaurant called Lokal. Beer is also very good in there. https://lokal.ambi.cz/en/signpost/

I'm not sure what I'm doing, I suppose it will all come apparent on the day. May not even head to the fan park. Will have a good look around on the Tuesday and it's only a 15 minute walk from the old square.
